Laban School's adapted primary and secondary school is looking for an experienced, committed, and competent special educator with a focus on IF, who is fundamentally a preschool/primary school teacher with experience in adapted primary school and/or high school.
Responsibilities
You will be responsible for the entire teaching process for students studying subject areas in primary school and/or the individual program in high school. You will have a team of skilled teaching assistants and experienced special educators to support you. Together with other colleagues and student health services, you will help develop our operations.
You understand the importance of teaching being creative and stimulating while also following the curriculum and its intentions for good teaching. You plan, organize, implement, and evaluate teaching both individually and together with your colleagues. You are flexible, have good collaboration skills, and a desire for students to reach their full potential.
In the classroom with the students, you are a clear leader who has the ability to create a learning environment characterized by safety, joy, and knowledge. This is achieved through good didactic skills, a clear structure, and varied teaching adapted to the individual's conditions.
You see documentation and assessment as a natural part of teaching and thus your work. You have a good ability to analyze and reflect on your teaching in order to continuously develop and improve it.
Qualifications
We are looking for someone who:
- is fundamentally a licensed preschool/primary school teacher.
- has experience teaching in adapted primary school and has good knowledge of governing documents.
- uses digital tools in teaching and applies clear pedagogical methods and has knowledge of positive behavior support.
- has good collaboration skills and can build good relationships as the work involves many contact points with students, staff, and guardians.
- expresses themselves well in both speech and writing, as the role includes written documentation and oral communication.
Licensure as a teacher and Special Education Teacher training with a focus on IF is a requirement to work in adapted primary school.
If you are not currently a special educator but have worked for at least 4 years as a preschool/primary school teacher, the employer can offer you the opportunity to study according to the teacher lift program for 3 years, provided that you are willing to work at least 80% during your studies. This would occur one year after starting employment.
